In recent years, great progress has been made at the University of Maribor in the field of research. Successfully obtained co-financing of high-performance computer infrastructure of the project Upgrading National Research Infrastructures – HPC RIVR, the result of which is the most powerful public supercomputer VEGA in the Republic of Slovenia, means a great contribution to society, including research into the fight against Covid-19. The project UPGRADE OF THE RIUM RESEARCH EQUIPMENT for the purchase of new state-of-the-art scientific research equipment is also extremely important for the further development of the University of Maribor. The high goals, when space is not unattainable, were realized when the University of Maribor recently managed to develop and launch the first SLOVENIAN NANOSATELITE into space, which is already sending the first findings to Earth. Finding solutions for a better future for future generations is the goal of many research projects. Thus, the University of Maribor can boast of an important contribution of its faculties in the DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRIC AIR TRAFFIC and the recent FIRST EXPERIMENTAL FLIGHT OF A HYDROGEN AIRCRAFT. With recognizable successes in the field of scientific research, achieved with its own knowledge and technology, the University of Maribor thus stands alongside competitive educational and research institutions in Europe and globally.
